REALTOR.UG has a very unique and very simple property search mechanism that has no filters but rather a single search box where you can type the details of the property that you are searching for. It is the only one of its kind within Uganda that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to give property listing results based on Natural Language Processing (NLP).

Therefore, quickest and easiest way to start your property search on REALTOR.UG is to type a single keyword into the search box, and then wait a few seconds for suggestions that are based on what is available on the Ugandan real estate market.

For example, you can search by typing a location like: Kololo or Gayaza or Naalya or even a district like Jinja or Mabarara, you can also type a property category like Bungalow or Apartment or Villa or Mansion or Residential land, it will also work fine if you type 3 bedroom or farm or shop or office space or Warehouse, etc.

Another quick way to get results is to type only (the first) 3 letters of your keyword into the search box and you will get suggestions in just a few seconds, typing the first three letters is very important in cases where you are not sure of the whole spelling of a specific location/word, you will get suggestions which contain those 3 letters, feel free to select any of the suggestions and then press the search button to get results.

The property search engine on the REALTOR.UG platform uses "Auto-complete" technology in combination with Natural Language Processing and Artificial Intelligence to respond with several available suggestions and search results which contain the keyword that you just entered into the search box.

Artificial Intelligence in this case is very helpful in predicting what you need even when you misspell it. For example, a common location like Najjera can be misspelled in several ways (Njjera, Najeerra, Najjera1, Najjjera, Najera, Najjeera, Najeera, Najjera2, Najjara, Najerra, Najjere).

However, Artificial Intelligence will determine the correct spelling in cases where you use any of the above misspelled words, this will be done based on previous searches and existing content plus several months of machine learning to give you the correct search results for Najjera (try it out).

If your needs are unique, then you can just type all the unique keywords into the search box, or you can modify the suggestions by adding more keywords to suit your interests.

For example, if the house you need should be furnished, then you can type something like "I need a furnished 3 bedroom house for rent in Kololo" and then you will get results with only furnished 3 bed options.

NB: All search results are arranged in order of price, so that its easy to find the ones that are within your current budget range. You can also feel free to type multiple locations into the search box.

If you are a Luganda speaker, you can also try out using (basic) Luganda language in the property search box, computers are yet to master local languages, so it’s something that is still being worked on, but it works fairly well with some few exceptions where the system may not understand the complex Luganda or where the Luganda word is misspelled.
